mkmf是ruby1.9.1-dev包。该软件包包含Ruby 1.9.1扩展库所需的头文件。你需要做安装ruby1.9.1-dev包：

sudo apt-get install ruby1.9.1-dev

然后你就可以安装Rails按正常。

一般来说它更容易只是做：

sudo apt-get install ruby-dev

建议的答复只适用于红宝石的某些版本。一些评论者建议使用ruby-dev;那也不适合我。
