sudo apt-get install libmysqlclient-dev

如果这还不够尝试像这样

sudo apt-get install libmysqlclient-dev libmysqlclient16 ruby-dev

你应该做的错误消息告诉你：检查mkmf.log ！使用find /usr/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/gems/ -name mkmf.log搜索此文件。通常，出现此错误消息是因为您忘记为要安装的扩展程序安装-dev软件包。所以如果你想安装mysql gem，你可能忘了先安装libmysqlclient14-dev。做一个apt-cache搜索| grep dev找到合适的软件包。

试试这个，然后再安装mysql的宝石：

命令和apt-get安装的libmysqlclient-dev的libmysqlclient16

这之后再运行工作sudo gem安装mysql。

文档仍然不能正确安装（“无定义”错误堆，虽然那不是一个真正的大问题。
